Software Development Manager

Job Title: Software Development Manager


As a software development manager, (s)he must be responsible for the continuous improvement of a team of developers and QA analysts' competencies, developments and processes. The successful candidate must have a strong background in mid-to-back end development in order to guide and improve team's operational procedures including engineering best practices and proper process management. Solid understanding of trading markets is beneficial.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development, deployment and operational success of the team's products
  • Ensure the teams have necessary capacity and competencies to execute projects and improvements
  • Evolve existing and introduce new practices, tools and processes to improve and optimise entire software development life cycle
  • Establish and facilitate cross-team collaboration and communication channels
  • Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development
  • Work closely with each team members to evolve them into self-managed individuals
  • Actively be involved in Enterprise architecture evolution of the system to help align all products' architecture and intercommunication
  • Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and stake holders to maximise success of each feature and product

Qualification & Experience Requirement:

  • Degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ years as software developer using Microsoft .Net Framework and Microsoft SQL Server
  • 8+ years proven work experience building high volume/performance, mission critical 24/7, low latency distributed enterprise level systems such as trading systems in financial and other similar type systems
  • 8+ years experience in leading teams in Lean/Agile environments, experience in Kanban is a plus
  • 5+ years developing message driven systems using RabbitMQ or similar technologies
  • 5+ years management leadership experience in software development organization
  • Experience and good understanding of the following: CI/CD, SOA, EDA, Solid principles, CQRS, WCF, Akka.Net, Web API, OWIN, DI, Mocking frameworks
  • Experience with the application performance and log management tools such as AppDynamics and Splunk
  • Solid understanding of the quality assurance processes, best practices and test automation tools such as SoapUI, Runscope, JMeter
  • Solid understanding of trading markets is beneficial
  • Experience in leading geographical distributed development teams a plus
  • Strong knowledge of fantasy sports or sports analytics is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of sports betting markets or financial trading markets is a plus
